This policy covers the Campistry platform, including Campistry Link (the parent portal) and Campistry Lite (the staff/counselor app), together "Campistry," "we," or "us." Campistry is provided to families and staff through a camp that has licensed it — the camp is the one who invites you, and who decides what Campistry is used for at that camp. This policy explains what we collect on the camp's behalf, why, and what choices you have.
Provided by parents or camp staff to help the camp care for a child: name, division/grade/bunk assignment, allergies, medications, dietary needs, doctor and insurance information, and emergency contacts.
Messages and announcements sent between camp staff and parents through the app, including any files or forms attached to them.
Canteen account balances and deposits, camp shop orders, and tips, where the camp has these features turned on. Campistry records the transaction details needed to run these features (amounts, items, timestamps); actual payment card handling, where applicable, is performed by the camp's own payment provider, not stored by Campistry.
In-app settings you choose, like notification toggles, haptics, and theme — stored so the app remembers your choices.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use camper or family data for advertising.
| Who | Why |
|---|---|
| Your camp (staff with appropriate access) | They're the ones running the camp — this is the core purpose of the app. |
| Supabase | Our database and backend infrastructure provider, which stores app data on our behalf. |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) | Delivers push notifications to Android devices; receives only a device token, not message content in most cases. |
| The camp's own payment provider, where applicable | Processes actual payment transactions the camp has configured; Campistry does not store full payment card numbers. |
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Campistry Link and Lite are not directed at, marketed to, or designed for use by children — accounts are created and used by adults (parents and camp staff). Information about campers is provided by those adults, on behalf of the camp, to support the camp's operation of its program. If you are a parent and believe your child has somehow created their own account, contact us using the details below and we will address it.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest through our infrastructure provider. Access to a camper's health, contact, and photo information is restricted to that camper's own parent(s)/guardian(s) and to camp staff with appropriate access — not to other families at the same camp.
We retain information for as long as your account or your camp's use of Campistry is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law. A camp may also have its own retention practices for records it is required to keep.
If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Campistry after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Questions about this policy, or a request regarding your information, can be sent to campistryoffice@gmail.com. You can also reach out to your camp directly, since they are the ones who invited you and administer your account.
